Here are 5 facts about autism

1. Autism is a neurological disorder that affects where individuals have social communication challenges as well as restricted and repetitive behaviours. 
2. It is diagnosed four to five times more often in boys than in girls.
3. Parents often notice signs in their child within the first three years of life. Some of these symptoms are; not making eye contact, showing little or no interest in other children, hand flapping, head banging and trouble with communication.
4. Autism Awareness Day is celebrated on April 2nd. People show their awareness by wesring blue. 
5. There is no cure for autism but with occupational, speech, behavioural or aba therapy, it can lessen symptoms.
