World War I

World War I was known as the war to end all wars. It started when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated on June 28th 1914. He and his wife decided to inspect Austrian-Hungarian troops in Bosnia. Serbian Nationalist Gravilo Princip assassinated Ferdinand and their wife when their car was open. It stopped at a corner on its way out of town. One month later on July 28th, the country was at war. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia.
